About Dr. Pensack

bac_001_208x314.jpgI have made San Francisco both my home and office location. I love living and working in the Bay Area. My steady and diverse patient base has made Bay Area Chiropractic a wonderful practice for me.

In addition to time spent with patients in my San Francisco office, I have also lent my talents to various healthcare missions around the globe. Most recently, I travelled to Santa Ana, El Salvador, to treat the local population for the many health issues that typically go untreated, due to poverty and a healthcare system that doesn’t reach the average person. I enjoyed a similar mission to Ensenada, Mexico.

I graduated from Life Chiropractic College West, in 1993, Magna Cum Laude. I have spent many semesters as an instructor between 1994 and the present, teaching Gonstead technique and analysis. I continue to do guest speaking engagements at the Gonstead Club, where I provide instruction and technique refinement.

I achieved Diplomate Status, awarded by the Gonstead Clinical Studies Society, in 2004.

Philosophy

My philosophy is simple. I challenge the health paradigm that most people live within. This paradigm is one in which all the emphasis is on pain. A motto that sums up this paradigm I challenge is “maybe it will go away”. Whereas, my goal is prevention, wellness, and optimal function.

The body has the unique capability to produce any drug, at the right time, in the correct amount, if it’s able to. Nerve interference can inhibit the body from working at it’s optimal level. Pain is an outward symptom of a deeper problem. Pain comes and goes, but problems remain until treated.

Approach

Very often with health problems, it requires the doctor to dig deeper to find the root cause. I attack that problem through very specific means and a specific technique. The examination is very detailed. It determines the state of your spine and how that status affects your overall health. The spinal exam is very specific in that I am searching for abnormalities in the skin, swelling that you may or may not be aware of, tight and tender muscle mass, and any other structural dysfunction affecting your body.

My approach to creating a personalized treatment plans is very practical. I use special instrumentation to detect heat differences from one side of the spine to the other. I use my training and many years of experience in visualization to identify structural conditions of your body that will ultimately affect your diagnosis and treatment plan.

Palpation is movement of the spine. I use palpation technique to seek areas of abnormal motion along your spine. X-rays are vital to me to determine shape and condition of your spine. I can view your spine’s primary curves. I also look for degenerative changes. I view your x-rays with a careful eye for any injuries you have sustained. Most importantly, I am analyzing the x-rays for the most effective way to correct your problem, so I can find the fastest route to your best health and pain-free, vital, living.
